From the Pastor’s Desk

Even after thirty years, I remain amazed by the calling of God on my life to birth and pastor New Life Ministries, Inc. currently located at New Life Christian Center. It has truly been by His grace and mercy that this ministry has been engaged consistently in Kingdom building as led by the Holy Spirit. As I think about the many ways the Father allowed New Life to experience Him, I cannot help to but praise Him for His faithfulness.

During our first decade, Holy Spirit continually showed New Life how to remain steadfast and immovable. In spite of what we had or did not have, we learn how to pray, worship, and serve our community God’s way. I remember how we sang to the glory of the Lord without the benefit of a musician for years. Our hearts invited the angels to join us as we lifted our voices to the Lord, and their ministry joining ours filled the environment with His presence.

Regardless of whose home we were in, God always met us in prayer. Whether at 6:00 AM prayer, all night prayer, or Wednesday night prayer, His grace and mercy met us every time. In prayer, He filled our Spirits with a desire to know Him and to be transformed by the renewing of our hearts and minds. Praise the Lord, I can attest that His love lifted us in ways that demonstrated that He was with us.

In the second decade, Holy Spirit settled us in Lakeview, New York. Once again, we experienced His hand of mercy and grace as Holy Spirit grew the church both in Spirit and numbers. The growth and development of the members in our Body of Christ to one another remains remarkable. As lay members received the calling of God on their lives, New Life saw the Holy Spirit transform passion into productivity. Our Kingdom assignments grew and demonstrated that with His invitation to work, comes the grace and provision to complete the work.

In this last decade, the Holy Spirit continued to prove that there is no God like Almighty Jehovah. He provided New Life with a greater space than what we had asked Him for, canceled a multi-million dollar lien so that we could own the Hempstead, New York building debt free, and enable us to extend His love and work to the community in which He assigned us. New Life truly has continued to be the house of the Lord where the Word of God is taught and experienced.

As New Life moves into the next decade, I carry my memories and appreciation for every past, present, and former members of New Life. They have allowed our Father to let them make deposits that continues to demonstrate how the Holy Spirit ’s gifts and callings are beneficial within Body of Christ.

I want to thank my husband of forty-nine years, Pastor Eddie Corbett Sr. for his love and support for this work; and our children Kandice, Ed, and Frank for always sharing us with others.

I have not included individual names for concern of leaving someone out, but I bless the Lord and I know He knows, and it has been the culture of New Life that we give all the glory and honor to him.

I cannot thank all of you enough for your prayers and commitment to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

As Andre Couch wrote, “How can I say thanks for the things He has done for me? Things so undeserved and yet He gave to prove His love for me. The voices of a million angels could not express my gratitude. All that I am and ever hope to be, I owe it all to thee.” To God be the Glory.”

All Because of Jesus Christ,

Apostle Katherine Corbett
